The Wonder of Weston Lights

The Wonder of Weston Lights

Swansway Group sponsored the Weston Christmas Light Display 2017, supporting Graham Witter in his fund raising for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.

Since 2013, Graham Witter’s Weston Christmas Light Display has quietly been raising funds for Donna Louise Children’s Hospice and now the results for 2017 are in!

Delighted Graham, 24, explained,

The total for 2017 is an amazing £25,870, the largest amount we’ve ever raised and I want to thank everyone in our amazing local community for their generosity, it means that since we first opened the display to the public we’ve raised a phenomenal £65,550 for the Donna Louise Hospice.

“It all started when I began decorating the family home for my late sister, Jessica, who had cardio-facio cutaneous syndrome and severe epilepsy. Despite her many health problems, she had a truly magical fascination for colour, light and sound.

“Each year we’d put up more and more lights until in 2013 a friend suggested we open the display to the public. Very sadly Jessica passed away on New Year’s Eve 2015, but we’ll never forget the amazing support from the Donna Louise Hospice to our family; all the monies raised at the display are in special memory of Jessica”, added Graham.

“We’re delighted to have had the privilege of supporting him in his fund-raising and we will be assisting him again, with his 2018 Weston Christmas Light Display. It’s been truly humbling to see just how much effort Graham puts into this event”, added Karen.

The monies raided from the 2017 event will be used to fund a hospice play leader over 12 months and provide 8 specialist sensory activities for the children.
