August is here and we’re gearing ourselves up for a jam packed Summer with everything from Boat Racing to Classic Car Shows.
But when it comes down to planning your Summer weekends to a “t”, how do you plan to see everything that’s on offer? We’ve put together our top picks for What’s On this August across the North West, so let’s take a look!
Rewind North Festival
Taking place between August 4th – 6th, the Rewind North Festival returns to Capesthorne Hall to celebrate all things 80’s.
Featuring a stunning lakeside campsite and natural amphitheatre, the main stage line up is packed with artists such as the Village People, Level 42, Status Quo and Belinda Carlisle – something for everyone to sing along to!
Enjoy street entertainers and acoustic performances throughout the show, then drop in at the big top silent disco too!
There’san array of posh festival nosh available and a firework display set for Saturday and Sunday nights.

Tegg’s Nose Butterfly Walk
Fancy something to get up to on Saturday August 5th? A treat for your little ones could be a mid-morning session in the great outdoors at Tegg’s Nose Country Park to enjoy a guided Butterfly Walk.
This family wildlife stroll around the top of Tegg’s Nose will teach you to look for and learn more about some of the park’s resident butterfly species. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a glimpse of the rare local speciality, the Wall butterfly!
Be sure to book online before heading to the event as booking and payment in advance is essential to avoid disappointment. Prices are set at adults £3, and children 16 or under go free.
Northwich River Festival
On August 12th – 13th, the Northwich River Festival is set to come to town.
Sure to be fun for all the family, this top-flight rowing action with Northwich Rowing Club’s Regatta will include Dragon Boat Racing, a Duck Race, Charity Stalls and Street Theatre, as well as live music on the Saturday night too!
The end line of the two days race is set to finish at The Odeon, Baron’s Quay, and offers plenty of viewing options along the river from Witton Brook along the route, then the fun continues after dark as the action moves to Memorial Court for an evening of music.
Top Brit Pop tribute act “Marblehead Johnson” supported by The Microtones will take to the stage and with tickets costing only £10 per person running from 20:00 – Midnight, this is sure to be a fantastic evening for everyone to enjoy!
Passion for Power – Classic Motor Show
Over August 19th – 20th, around 2,000 classic cars will take to the stage at Tatton Park for one of the UK’s favourite Classic Car Events.
The event is set to offer the usual 200+ Auto, jumble, specialist and general trade stands, and this year the very popular Passion for Power Dream Cars Pavilion will also be included; a large undercover display area for the finest high-performance and competition super cars!
Ticket prices are £9 for Adults and £6 for 10-15 year olds plus £6 parking per car. Opening times are from 9:00 – 16:00 Saturday and Sunday.

Outdoor Cinema Weekend at Tatton Park
Between August 25th – 27th, why not take a family visit down to Tatton Park for their outdoor cinema weekend?
The film choice is yours; Back To The Future, Grease or Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone, all under the evening moonlight in the stunning setting of the Tatton Park grounds.
Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit on such as camping chairs, cushions or blankets and we’d suggest packing a jacket or coat to keep you extra warm during the evening.

Armed and Ready
Experience the sights, sounds and smells of life in medieval Beeston as warriors and families set up camp in the grounds of Beeston Castle on 27th and 28th August.
Taking place between 11:00 – 17:00 take a trip to Beeston Castle to see first hand what life would have been like so many years ago in what we now know and love as the Cheshire countryside.
With on-site parking available and picnic areas too, pack your drinks and snacks to enjoy a mid afternoon wonder through history and make a real day of it with your family.
Tickets start from £5.15 for children aged 5-15, and £8.50 per adult, but entry is free of charge for English Heritage Members.
