We’ve taken a look at some of the latest models on sale and picked out some key competitors - so let’s dive in and check them out.
Audi Q4 e-tron
Audi’s latest electric car to join the e-tron range is the Q4 - a compact SUV that packs a whole load of features. It also has a series of battery options, the largest of which is capable of delivering up to 331 miles from a single charge.
Inside, it gets all of Audi’s latest systems and a large central infotainment system with high-definition graphics.
Skoda Enyaq iV
Skoda’s Enyaq iV actually sits atop the same platform as the Q4 e-tron, but goes around the job of mobility in a particularly Skoda-ish fashion. It’s got loads of clever features, but its real focus is on practicality with its huge 585-litre boot being an example of this.
It’s also got a 332-mile range, so is particularly long-legged in between charges.
Fiat 500
Fiat’s 500 underwent a big shift recently as it switched from petrol engines to a fully electric setup. It did, however, hang on to its retro looks, which are behind the 500’s seemingly everlasting popularity.
Though designed for the city, a range of up to 199 miles means it’s not just restricted to urban areas either.
Volkswagen ID.4
Volkswagen hasn’t wasted any time in expanding its ID. line-up of electric vehicles, adding the ID.4 to the range. Larger and more spacious than the ID.3, the ID.4 has the same futuristic appearance as its smaller stablemate but with a greater focus on practicality.
At 317 miles, its range is pretty decent too.
Honda e
Honda’s dinky e is arguably one of the most stylish EVs on the market today, with dinky proportions and cutesy styling making it a genuine alternative proposition. Inside, it’s just as quirky with a mix of clever fabrics and ultra-wide screens creating an almost concept car-like place to be.
Though its 137-mile range isn’t the longest, for those in the city it’ll prove to be more than enough.
