Skoda Enyaq
The Enyaq iV is a great example of how a manufacturer’s traditional traits can be transplanted into an EV. Skoda’s legendary attention to practicality is present and correct in the Enyaq, as are the firm’s range of ‘Simply Clever’ touches which help to make the Enyaq even easier to live with on a day to day basis. Plus, with a range of up to 332 miles in large battery versions, the Enyaq is one of the best EVs on sale in terms of outright range.
Volkswagen ID.4
Volkswagen’s ID.4 actually sits on the same platform as the Enyaq iV, but does have a few notable changes. It’s a lot more futuristic in terms of styling, for one, while its interior does take a slightly more modern approach to aesthetics, too. But you still get the same excellent range and spacious cabin, with the lack of any real buttons inside giving the car a clean, crisp look.
Hyundai Ioniq 5
The Ioniq 5 is easily one of the most striking-looking EVs on sale today, with a futuristic appearance designed to make it stand out from the crowd. With its narrow headlights and flush door handles, it certainly turns heads. But it backs this up with loads of great tech, as well as the ability to travel for up to 298 miles between charges.
Fiat 500
Fiat’s retro 500 was always ripe for electrification, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when it was reincarnated as a fully electric model. Retaining the original’s popular looks, the new 500 brings the same charm as its predecessor but with the benefit of a zero-emission powertrain. With 199 miles of range from a single charge, it isn’t a car relegated to solely urban use, either.
Audi Q4 e-tron
Yet another car to utilise the Volkswagen Group’s MEB platform, the Audi Q4 e-tron is a predictably upmarket take on the EV formula. A high quality cabin includes pin-sharp displays and readouts, while the rear seats provide plenty of space too. In larger battery models you should get up to 311 miles from a single charge, too.
MG 5
MG is making a real name for itself through its creation of low-cost but well-made electric cars. In fact, during the pandemic it was one of the few companies to see sales grow as a result of its EV offerings. The MG 5 takes the crown as the only electric estate car on sale in the UK, which means it’s got the practicality that many buyers are after. It’s also got up to 250 miles of range, which is more than enough for most journeys.
