It seems Jaguar just can’t stop designing beautiful cars and the new all-electric Jaguar I-Pace is no exception

Why should I buy a Jaguar I-PACE?

  • Stunning looks - headturnering design
  • Long battery range - Almost 300 miles range on one charge
  • Sports car acceleration - 0-60mph in 4.5 seconds
  • Spacious cabin - electric power means more room in the interior

It’s a truly stunning looking car

To date the choice of truly usable electric cars has been somewhat limited with most falling into the city or small car sectors. The Jaguar I-Pace not only brings beauty to the sector, but real everyday usability and great performance with 400 PS and 0-60mph in around about 4 seconds and yes it really is all-electric!

Jaguar’s aim with the I-Pace was to produce a distinctive Jaguar car, with all the beauty synonymous with the brand, which just so happened to be electric powered. To move the electric car sector on and to produce a car that not only made sense for the planet and for the purse, but also was a true driver’s car, which would make your heart beat that little bit faster.

One look at the I-Pace will tell you that Jaguar have achieved exactly that.

The I-Pace is as gorgeous on the inside as it is on the out and enjoys all the extra space that dispensing with a combustion engine and transmission tunnel gives.

TWO ENGINES

The I-Pace is powered by two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear; this makes it a true 4-wheel drive vehicle. Together the engines produce just short of 400 PS, which whooshes the I-Pace from 0-60mph in around 4 seconds.

Stop and consider how many other standard small SUV, with combustion engines, could match this acceleration. Perhaps more importantly, the I-Pace can travel over 310 miles on single charge, making it the SUV with the largest range and easily beating electric city cars which have ranges of between 150 – 250 miles.

This range makes the I-Pace a real-world electric car and the time taken to charge is short too. Pop into a meeting and meet for lunch and in 2 hours the I-Pace will be charged from a standard charging point. Hook up to a fast charger and in just 40 minutes the I-Pace will be 80% charged.

TWO BOOTS

There’s no doubting the beauty of the I-Pace exterior and interior, but don’t be fooled by its gorgeous looks, it’s highly practical too; it not only charges swiftly, with a long range, but its two engines are complemented by two boots! That’s the beauty of ditching a bulky combustion engine, lots of space is freed up and in this case it can be used to store shopping, luggage, golf clubs, sports gear, anything you care to think of.

Front and rear boots together give 530 litres of storage space, significantly more than most traditionally powered cars in its class.

FOUR SCREENS

The technology and infotainment systems in the I-Pace will keep you connected and informed via four different screens and ergonomically placed screens. There’s a 12 in screen in front of the driver where the standard instrument binnacle would usually sit and the driver can tailor the information shown to suit their preferences.

Another central touchscreen is also 12 in, providing the infotainment and Sat Nav services, which today we all find so indispensable; lower down the central console is a 5.5 in screen which control the climate settings.

Screen number four is a colour head-up display which projects essential information onto the windscreen. Enough gizmos and gadgets to satisfy the most techno-obsessed, whilst understated and minimal enough not to spoil the interior design, or frighten off us technophobes!
