With eligibility for the Motability Scheme expanding criteria over the last few years and the introduction of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the number of Motability customers aged under 25 has risen.

Whilst under 25s are welcome to join the scheme, it does restrict your options when picking the right vehicle to suit your needs.

“What car can I drive if I am under 25?”.

There are currently over 1,600 vehicles available on the Motability Scheme and over 500 of them get the go-ahead for under 25 year olds to drive.

If you are under the age of 25 and are eligible to join the Motability Scheme, there are three rules when picking your vehicle:

  1. The vehicle must be a car, crossover or SUV
  2. The vehicles insurance group must be 16 or lower
  3. The engine of the vehicle must not exceed 120 brakehorse power (BHP), in power speed (PS) this is 121. Although this rule does exclude Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs)

At Swansway, we can offer 5 brands covering 89 cars to under 25s. Take a look through the options below, we hope it helps you to make your decision.
