Holidays on home soil are busier than ever leading many of the UK’s top holiday locations to be fully sold out.

Holidays on home soil are busier than ever as travellers still struggle to venture abroad, leading many of the UK’s top holiday locations to be fully sold out. But if you venture further afield, the UK has some amazing and idyllic beauty spots – and MINI has tracked them down. Number one position goes to Uyea, an uninhabited island off the Northmavine peninsula in Shetland, Scotland – and it’s only possible to get on or off at low tide.

In second is Llyn Dinas in Wales - a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains in the north of the country – while taking the final spot on the podium is Binevenagh in Northern Ireland, which is a mountain with a plateau that extends for around six miles, with sheer cliff faces alongside.

The remainder of the top five are two English locations: Gaping Gill in North Yorkshire and Whiteless Pike in Cumbria. The rest of the top 10 includes Llyn Glaslyn, Wales; Pedn Vounder Beach, England; Sgwd Yr Eira, Wales; The Roaches, England, and Fingal’s Cave, Scotland. If you want to discover them for yourself, check out MINI’s Big Days Out Index on the company’s UK website.
