Staff from Skiddle, an online event and ticketing outlet, are on a marathon Festival Challenge hoping to raise £150,000 for Macmillan Cancer Trust
Hoping to visit festivals as far apart as Solfest in Cumbria and Victorious in Portsmouth, the intrepid team are on their way in a VW Transporter Kombi, courtesy of family owned Swansway Motor Group.
David Cowan, Head of Business at Volkswagen Van Centre Liverpool said: “We were contacted by Skiddle who told us about this fantastic fundraising challenge and we wanted to support them anyway we could.
“Macmillan Cancer Trust is a charity very close to our heart and there was no hesitation loaning a van to help raise money for such a great charity”.
Richard Dyer, co-founder and Director of Skiddle, added: “Big thanks to Swansway Volkswagen Van Centre Liverpool for providing us with this van which has enabled us to carry-out what will no-doubt be a true test of stamina.
“To celebrate the Great British Festival and a huge weekend of music, this year we wanted to do something special. We’ve combined our love of music festivals with a ridiculous feat of endurance – all to raise money for an amazing cause.
“We can’t wait get on the road and visit some of the UK’s most exciting and eclectic festivals in this epic race against time. We don’t underestimate how tough it’s going to be – we’ll only have two to three hours maximum to make our mark at every festival: main stage appearances, selfies with headliners – the lot, but we’re up for the challenge and are really motivated to raise as much as we can for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
