Jaguar I-Pace Takes Clean Sweep With Third Major UK Tech Award

  • The all-electric Jaguar I-PACE has won Stuff Magazine’s ‘Best Car’ Award, marking a clean sweep of awards in the major UK tech publications
  • I-PACE has already been named Pocket-lint’s ‘Best Car’ and T3’s ‘Best Car’ this year, as well as ‘German Car of the Year’ and ‘Sunday Times Car of the Year’
  • With an all-electric range of 292 miles (WLTP), artificial intelligence technology and advanced infotainment, the I-PACE is the ultimate expression of a modern Jaguar.

The Jaguar I-PACE has won its third major UK tech award this year, having been named ‘Best Car’ by Stuff Magazine; the best-selling gadget magazine.

The award follows on the heels of I-PACE being named ‘Best Car’ by T3 and ‘Best Car’ by Pocket-lint, marking a clean sweep among major tech publications.

I-PACE is the most high-tech Jaguar ever produced, featuring a fully-electric powertrain fitted with two electric motors.

It is also Jaguar’s first vehicle to include the Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, capable of over-the-air software updates, and uses artificial intelligence to adapt to a driver’s personal preferences, ensuring driving and infotainment settings are matched to each individual using the car.

Red Jaguar I-Pace Wins More Awards

With four-wheel-drive, 400PS and 696Nm of torque, I-PACE delivers sports car performance, accelerating from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds.

Despite its exhilarating speed, I-PACE is capable of 292 miles (WLTP) of real-world all-electric range, thanks to a state-of-the-art lithium-ion battery complemented by a suite of range-optimising technologies, including an advanced battery pre-conditioning system.

Rawdon Glover, Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director, said:

"We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the response to I-PACE. There are many that said the world isn’t ready for electric cars, but with a range of almost 300 miles, a quick charging time, sports car performance and nearly 25 major global awards under its belt, the I-PACE has proven them wrong in incredible style.

Thank you to the team at Stuff for this award; it’s the latest in a long line of accolades that really validates the years of hard work, from thousands of passionate employees, that went into creating the car.”

I-PACE’s innovations and cutting-edge engineering have secured well over 20 major awards wins since its introduction, and not just in tech publications.

It was voted as German Car of the Year and Scottish Car of the Year by two panels of motoring experts, the Sunday Times named it ‘Car of the Year’ and Top Gear Magazine named it ‘Best Electric Vehicle’.

The Jaguar I-PACE is available to order now, priced from £59,995 (including government incentives).

The Crossover sector is the fastest growing and toughest sales market in motoring with every manufacturer vying for customers.

TopGear’s expert judges crowned the E-PACE top of the pile and highlighted its outstanding design saying: “The design sells the E-PACE at 50 paces” and “Even if the E-PACE didn’t out-drive or out-ambience its rivals, it would out-want everything”

Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with TopGear’s recognition of the new E-PACE so soon after its launch. The E-PACE brings an unmistakable extra character to the Compact Crossover sector - it’s a Jaguar with sports car looks, designed for the whole family. It has an incredible package of practicality geared for everyday life, but it’s also lots of fun to drive.”

The exterior design of the E-PACE was inspired by the F-TYPE sports car, characterised by the distinctive Jaguar grille, muscular proportions, short overhands and powerful haunches.

It also comes with the latest in car connectivity, including a 10-inch touch screen as standard. At under 4.4 metres the E-PACE has exceptional interior space and can seat five in comfort.

The E-PACE joins the World Car of the Year F-PACE in Jaguar’s growing line-up of SUVs that will be joined in 2018 by the all-electric I-PACE.

Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK Managing Director said: “We are honoured by TopGear Magazine’s recognition of the new Jaguar E-PACE and believe it will be a hit with UK buyers too. Its combination of sports car looks with a practical, spacious and connected package as well as strong residual values make it the perfect vehicle for the next generation of Jaguar owners.”

The Jaguar E-PACE is available with a range of powerful and efficient Ingenium petrol and diesel engines. The 300PS Ingenium petrol turbo engine powers the sporting SUV from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds before reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 151mph. For customers who want the ultimate efficiency, the front-wheel drive 150PS Ingenium diesel delivers CO2 emissions of 124g/km.

The Jaguar E-PACE, priced from £28,500, is available to order now at Jaguar UK retailers.

The Jaguar XE scoops up another award at the Auto Express Awards 2017

  • The game-changing Jaguar XE has been crowned Auto Express Compact Executive Car of the Year for the third year running
  • It’s the 60th major global award for the XE, which has repeatedly triumphed over its established German rivals in the segment
  • Adding to Jaguar’s awards haul was a win for the Jaguar I-PACE Concept, which picked up the Design Award, voted for by Auto Express readers

London, Tuesday June 28, 2017: The Jaguar XE has picked up its 60th major global award, winning the prestigious Auto Express Compact Executive Car of the Year title for the third year running.

Before the XE’s arrival, the last time a non-German manufacturer won Auto Express’ Compact Executive title was more than a decade ago. Jaguar’s disruptive all-electric I-PACE, arriving in 2018, also picked up the Design Award, voted for by Auto Express readers.

Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said...

To win the Compact Executive Car of the Year for a third year in a row just proves what a special car the XE is. With a mix of desirable styling, incredibly low running costs and engaging handling, the XE continues to impress buyers and experts alike. Clearly, Auto Express readers are looking forward to the future of Jaguar, too, with the I-PACE Concept winning the public choice Design Award – we can’t wait to share full details of this car when it goes into production in 2018.

The XE uses Jaguar’s advanced Lightweight Aluminium Architecture, and high-tech Ingenium engines, helping to make it one of the most efficient non-hybrid car in its class with fuel economy of up to 75mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km.

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express, said...

With a consistent flow of model updates always arriving, the Jaguar XE has stayed ahead of the pack, years after it first launched. It’s stylish and luxurious, but it’s also a joy to drive and makes a great deal of sense to fleet buyers, too. For the third year in a row, the XE is a winner of one of our most hotly contested categories. We also saw a huge response in our Design Award, with our readers voting in their thousands to give Jaguar’s I-PACE Concept the win – a real testament the good work of Ian Callum and his team.

The all-electric Jaguar I-PACE Concept will go into production in 2018, where it will join the other members of the PACE family; the F-PACE and newly announced E-PACE, which will be fully revealed to the world on 13 July. Since its launch, the F-PACE quickly went on to become the fastest-selling Jaguar ever, and played a crucial role in an 83% sales increase for Jaguar worldwide last year.

The Jaguar XE is available to order now from Swansway Jaguar Crewe.
