Discover the winning features of the Peugeot 308

The new Peugeot 308 range has just arrived in the UK, leaving fans of this popular family hatchback more than excited! The 2018 Peugeot 308 models are the safest with the most connectivity ever. Between infotainment and driver aids, the technology on these models simply can’t be beaten.

The latest Peugeot 308 includes a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen that lets you control the key functions of the vehicle’s interior. Use it to adjust the dual-zone climate control or check the 3D Connected Navigation system. This latest infotainment system also features Mirror Screen, which combines Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink for seamless smartphone integration, regardless of your OS.

Enhanced Driving Aids

It’s not only the new hatchback’s connectivity that gets our vote. Driving in a Peugeot 308 has never been safer thanks to the enhanced list of driving aids. Newly offered technologies for this model year include Adaptive Cruise Control featuring stop functionality, an Active Blind Spot Monitoring System, and intelligent Speed Limit Recognition.

This Speed Limit Recognition is a huge step forward, as it uses a camera located on the windscreen to read the speed limit signs before displaying them on the dashboard for you. Drivers can also take advantage of City Park, which is a smart park assist system to make getting in and out of that tight space a breeze.

Improved Inside and Out

The trim of the new Peugeot 308 also shows enhancements over previous models. All new models have the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit layout featuring a compact steering wheel. Certain trim levels also feature new seat fabrics and a panoramic fixed Cielo glass roof.

The exterior styling of the Peugeot 308 remains generally the same, but with revised details that create a sharper appearance. Admire the “Claw Effect” lights in the rear, which have become standard instead of optional. Or check out the reshaping of the front and rear bumpers, as well as the headlights. This new shape helps carry the family resemblance through to the 308’s big brother, the also new Peugeot 3008 SUV. There is even a new two-tone Coupe Franche choice with Black Perla Nera and Magnetic Blue for the 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport.

Updated Engines with Euro 6 Compliance

Look under the bonnet of the 2018 Peugeot 308, and you’ll spot new engines, each of which meets the strict Euro 6 regulations. The familiar 3-cylinder PureTech petrol engine that has won awards has been enhanced and now pairs with a 6-speed manual gearbox to maximise control and efficiency.

The latest Peugeot 308 also holds the honour of being the first of the PSA Group to use the 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130 S&S diesel powertrain. This four-cylinder has been tested under heavy use and competition. Finally, the 2-litre Blue HDi 180 Stop&Start works with a new 8-speed automatic. This is the unit found on the new 308 GTi by Peugeot Sport, which can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds, a fact that thankfully isn’t reflected in a very low carbon dioxide emissions rating.
