Best new SUVs featuring coupe styling

Here are some of the best SUVs on sale today, read on to find out more...

Within the world of SUVs, those that include coupe styling such as a sloping rear end are considered to be the most desirable and stylish.

While some find this trend pointless, it’s certainly proved popular – otherwise there wouldn’t be so many to choose from.

We’ve rounded up a few of the best on sale today. Take a look…

Audi Q8

The Q8 sits at the top of Audi’s SUV range and acts as the Q7’s chicer counterpart. Although it loses the option of seven seats that the Q7 possesses, it gains a sloping backend and a more muscular stance.

The model certainly has some presence about it and is undoubtedly packed full of tech, luxury and prestige – the Q8 earns its title of the king of Audi SUVs.

Porsche Cayenne Coupe

One of the latest manufacturers to jump on the coupe SUV bandwagon is Porsche. The German premium car maker saw fit to produce a version of its popular Cayenne with a sloping, coupe-like rear end.

With the Cayenne perhaps leaning more on the side of driving engagement than the typical SUV, the sporty, aggressive-looking coupe styling somewhat suits its character.

The first X6 was one of the cars leading the coupe SUV charge back in the late 2000s when it originally came out. Currently, the car is in its second generation and has gladly stuck to its guns. It’s fast, fun and fashionable, featuring a striking rear design.

This style carries into the interior as well, with a swanky look, great build quality and decent SUV practicality despite the sloping rear.

Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe

Sitting slap bang in the middle of Mercedes’ SUV range (excluding the GLA crossover), the GLE slots in between the smaller GLC and larger GLS. Like the former, it also gets a sleek coupe version.

There’s a variety of engines on offer too to suit different buyers. So, whether it’s speed and performance that top the list, or rather comfort and economy, the GLE Coupe may just prove the stylish SUV to tick all the boxes.

Lamborghini Urus

When first revealed, the Urus was a controversial car – and still is to this day – especially being a pretty big departure from what’s usually expected of a manufacturer like Lamborghini.

That being said, whether this Marmite machine appeals to you personally or not, there’s no denying it packs quite the punch when it comes to performance – after all, its 641bhp aids a 0-60mph time of just 3.2 seconds.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

While the Stelvio doesn’t exactly conform to being a coupe version of an existing SUV, it’s definitely been styled to look sharp, sporty and aggressive. In fact – and perhaps unsurprisingly for an Alfa Romeo – the results of what the Italian manufacturer has come up with are rather beautiful.

The Stelvio’s style, character and driving experience make it a compelling entry into the segment and one that’s hard to pass up once laid eyes on.

Aston Martin DBX

Another brand known for making beautiful cars is Aston Martin. The British manufacturer has just come out with its first SUV, the DBX, and it seems the consensus is that the company hit it out of the park looks-wise.

It’s no secret that the DBX was coming and now that it’s here, any concerns that Aston styling won’t look good on an SUV body style have surely been silenced. It’s aggressive, classy and sleek – just as a true Aston Martin should be.
