While there’s lots to be admired about the old classics - Ferraris, Lotuses and Porsches - every car has to start somewhere and there are plenty of up and coming new cars on the block to delight every car lover.

Where better to witness the latest automotive ideas and concepts than at an International Car Show? These highlights of the global automotive calendar give the ordinary man or woman on the street an opportunity to get up close and personal with cars that are about to break onto the market, and some that might never make it on to the public roads.

Here’s 13 of the best places to get your motor kicks in 2019...

North American International Auto Show (NAIAS)

If you've got the taste for adventure then taking place at the Cobo Centre in Detroit, the NAIAS is actually six car shows in one!

There’s nowhere more appropriate to hold a Motor Show than in the home of the US automotive industry - Detroit. Here, leading motor designers, engineers and innovators come together to present their latest developments.

It’s also where you’ll find the awards ceremonies for North American Car of the Year and North American Truck of the Year, a.k.a. ‘The Oscars of the Auto Industry’ and universities and government agencies also promoting their talents regarding artificial intelligence, connectivity and security.

The Gallery, an ultra-luxury automotive event, AutoMobili-D, an inside look at future mobility platforms, Press Preview, Industry Preview, Charity Preview and then concluding with a nine-day Public Show.

From muscle and electric cars, to high-performance supercars and full-size trucks, if you can't find something to like at NAIAS then you don't really like cars!
