Audi’s Q3 tops list of fastest-selling used cars for October

Second-hand examples of the German SUV prove to be in hot demand

Demand is proving to be hot for petrol variants of the Audi Q3, with the German SUV topping the list of fastest-selling used cars for October.

That’s according to vehicle pricing experts Indicata, which says green-pump examples of the SUV were leaving forecourts in an average of just 44 days. Each unit was also fetching an average of £26,305.

Other SUVs such as the petrol variants of the Toyota C-HR and Kia Sportage, plus diesel examples of the Renault Captur almost matched the Q3 — selling in an average of 45 days. The Mercedes A-Class equalled that, too.

It follows a trend from Indicata data that suggests smaller SUVs are the easiest sellers. For example, the Hyundai Tucson has topped the charts on six occasions in 2019 so far — while the Ford EcoSport and Dacia Duster have also appeared high up on occasion.

Neil Gilligan, Indicata UK’s business development manager, said: “October was another buoyant used car month with demand and prices strong. Despite the increased number of dealer part exchanges creeping into the market from the September plate stocking, days have remained consistent.

“In contrast to September’s strong diesel representation, petrol powertrains dominated the October top 10, but generally we are still seeing strong demand for all fuel types as the used market continues to grow.”
