Audi has introduced two new versions of its new electric Q4 e-tron.The first, badged ‘40’ and only offered in Sportback bodystyle, uses a single motor mounted at the rear axle pushing out 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. Thanks to a 76.6kWh battery, the ‘40’ can deliver a range of up to 332 miles - giving it the longest range of any vehicle in Audi’s line-up of electric cars.

The second new introduction is all-wheel-drive, which can be specified on the regular Q4. By placing an electric motor on each axle, this version brings added traction as well as 261bhp and 425Nm of torque. Wearing the ‘45’ badge, this model can go from 0-60mph in 6.9 seconds yet is able to return up to 304 miles of range. It uses the same 76.6kWh battery as you’ll find in the ‘40’, but because of the added electric motor can’t quite match that model’s range.

With these introductions, the Q4 line-up expands to four models and the Sportback to three. The current Q4 Series kicks off with the ‘35’ - bringing a range of up to 208 miles from its 55kWh battery - and finishes at the ‘50’ with its 82kWh battery returning a range of up to 298 miles. The Sportback, meanwhile, kicks off with the ‘35’ and its 211-mile range, rising to the ‘50’ which is capable of travelling up to 303 miles between charges. Prices for the Q4 e-tron start from £41,325, while the Sportback line-up commences from £42,825.
