Five of the best cars coming in 2022
With 2021 nearly over it’s time to start looking ahead to 2022. Therefore, all eyes are on 2022, with plenty of exciting new models on the way.
Here we take a look at five of the best cars coming in 2022.
Audi Q6 e-tron
Very little is currently known about this model, but we know enough to leave us anticipating something great. E-tron means electric in Audi’s world, and the existing models in this range have a sleek, futuristic look, fantastic driving dynamics and state-of-the-art technology.
The Q6 will essentially be a larger version of the Q4 e-tron, with similar front end styling and a coupe-like roofline. Its extra size will mean it’s more practical, but also means there’s more battery capacity – expect top models to have a range pushing towards 400 miles.

Volkswagen ID.6
Volkswagen’s ID range continues to expand, with the next big release being the ID.6. It’ll be a large SUV that sits at the top of the range. It’ll be a seven-seat family car with a range of up to 300 miles between charges. It’s another model that we know little about, but expect it to follow the same design cues as the smaller ID.3.

CUPRA Born
SEAT’s sporty spin-off CUPRA has been going from strength to strength recently. It started out building go-faster versions of the Spanish firm’s cars, but has started building bespoke cars now. One of its most interesting cars is coming next year.
Called Born, it’s an electric hatchback that uses the same platform as the Volkswagen ID.3 and Skoda Enyaq. It’s a really pretty car and should be practical, too, getting a range of over 350 miles.
Land Rover Defender Pick-up
When the Defender first made its comeback, purists said it wasn’t utilitarian enough to wear the iconic badge. It’s been a huge hit in the premium SUV segment though, with its cool styling, practical interior and go-anywhere abilities.
With a pick-up expected to join the line-up in 2022, some of that classic appeal could be refound. Very little is known about it, but expect it to primarily be offered with the firm’s diesel engines.
Honda Civic
The Honda Civic is a staple of the British hatchback scene. Over the years it has established itself as the go-to car for families looking for a quirky, reliable car – and the current model is still one of the best to drive in its class.
Next year a new generation is coming, but it will be built in Japan after Honda closed its UK plant. It ditches the wild styling of the current car and will be making the switch to hybrid powertrains.
