Marion Rothwell, from Leigh may be 100 years old, but she’s still behind the wheel and ahead of the times, as she became one of the first people to pick up a new 66 plate car!
Delighted, Marion who’s been a customer at Swansway Honda Bolton for 30 years, picked up her brand new Honda Jazz on 1st September, the first day the new 66 registration plate was available.
Ian Graham, who looked after Marion’s purchase commented,
What an absolute honour it’s been to look after Marion and her brother Frank, who’s 94 years old himself! She’s a delightful lady, who has seen the world around her change more than any of us can probably imagine. To live to such an age and still be driving is truly extraordinary.
This latest car is Marion’s seventh Honda; over the years, she’s had a few different models including Civic and Insight, but always from the Folds Road, Honda Bolton site. A delighted Marion commented,
I’ve been buying Honda cars from here for thirty years and some of the staff have been there all that time. I trust them and they always look after me so well, I just wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.
She received the keys to her latest sporty blue Honda Jazz, from a member of the family who own and operate Swansway Group, John Smyth, who as a Boltonian himself, wanted to be there to greet Marion in person. John added;
What a fabulous lady Marion is; my Dad’s been in the business over fifty years and he tells me that Marion is definitely the first 100 year old customer we’ve ever had! For her still to be driving herself around and enjoying life to the full, is simply fantastic and we feel so proud that she’s chosen to purchase another car from Swansway Honda Bolton.
As Marion drove off, she commented,
Frank and I are off to our caravan in Prestatyn and we’ll certainly enjoy the drive with our new car”
